ABOUT THE COURSE

Failures in dentistry are often blamed on materials. In reality, user error is often the culprit. In this seminar, Dr. Gerald Kugel will discuss common mistakes and pitfalls. He will also highlight the latest information and evidence on a variety of esthetic dentistry related topics and clinical procedures, including: all-ceramic options and cementation for indirect anterior and posterior restorations; digital impressions and 3D Printing; advances in adhesive and bioactive dentistry; and a comprehensive review of core principles of esthetic dentistry related to tooth form and function.

This session will enable participants to:
- Learn the limitation of materials and what the best options are for different clinical situations.
- Understand the importance of cementation as it relates to the choice of materials.
- Review the evidence as it relates to new bonding systems and bioactive materials.
- Discover how 3D printing can be used in your practice.

PRESENTER

Gerard Kugel, D.M.D., M.S., Ph.D

Gerard Kugel, DMD, MS, PHD, is the Dean of UNMC College of Dentistry in Lincoln, NE. Dr. Kugel is a Past Associate Dean for Research and Professor Emeritus at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. With an expertise in Clinical Research and Esthetic Dentistry, he is a reviewer for The New England Journal of Medicine, JADA, The Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, and the Clinician's Report. He is on the Editorial Board of The Journal of Comestic Dentisty, Compendium and Inside Dentistry, where he is Editor Emeritus. He is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry and the Academy of Dental Materials. Dr. Kugel has his PhD in Dental Materials; and earned his Executive Certificate in Management and Leadership from the Sloan School of Management at MIT. Conflict of interest: Ivoclar
