Thursday, April 23

9 AM - Noon

3 CDE Credits – DDS, DH, DA, AUX

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This session establishes the digital diagnostic and planning foundation used across different types of prosthodontic care. From simple crown cases to complex facial defects, we explore how accurate digital records and virtual design tool help achieve a comprehensive, interdisciplinary treatment strategy.

Course Objectives:
1. Identify the essential digital diagnostic tools used across fixed, removable, implant and maxillofacial prosthodontics, including intraoral scanners, CBCT and facial scanning.
2. Integrate digital records and datasets (STL, DICOM, PLY) for comprehensive treatment planning in both simple and complex cases.
3. Utilize virtual design platforms (e.g. digital smile design, virtual articulators) to develop prosthetically driven and patient-centered plans.
4. Understand interdisciplinary digital workflows that enhance collaboration between surgeons, prosthodontists, lab technicians and other specialists.
5. Apply digital planning protocols to improve communication with patients and guide them through the proposed treatment phases across various prosthodontic modalities.
