3 CDE Credits – DDS, DH, DA, AUX
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Let’s face it, sitting through a lecture about dental caries or caries risk assessment isn’t appealing. In fact, it sounds downright boring. However, the science of clinical cariology is beginning to have an impact on restorative techniques and technology. Learn how to make Streptococcus mutans eat its own glucan when facing an armamentarium with much more than an electronegative anion and fast diamonds.
Course Objectives:
1. Intervene medically in the caries process.
2. Control patient caries risk with focused therapeutics.
3. Change behaviors to minimize recurrent decay.
4. Improve the prognosis of restorative treatment.
