ABOUT THE COURSE

Join us for a comprehensive exploration of the intricate connections between the airway, pathogens, and plaques. This course will empower attendees with knowledge about the processes at play, from pathogen invasion to plaque formation, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining optimal airway health. Don't miss this opportunity to decode the in-depth relationship between the airway, pathogen and plaques, and gain a deeper understanding of how they collectively impact our health and well-being.

This session will enable participants to:
- Understand how sleep disordered breathing affects the oral microbiome.
- Recognize the nitric oxide pathway as it relates to both the oral microbiome, gut health and our entire system.
- Learn how oral pathogens contribute to plaques throughout the body.
- Foster interdisciplinary collaboration by bringing together dental and medical professionals to challenge prevailing myths surrounding periodontal disease to acheive better patient outcomes.

PRESENTER

Lora Hooper, B.S.D.H., R.D.H., E.F.D.A.

Lora received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from The Ohio State University in 1995. Lora is a member of The American Academy for Oral Systemic Health (AAOSH) and a 2011 Preceptor of the BaleDoneen Method. She is training through the Seeds Scientific Research & Performance (SSRP) Institute, completing their peptide program focusing on disease reversal and prevention at the cellular level. Her current passion is moving the dental hygiene profession from symptom suppression to disease reversal. Lora is the Vice President & Clinical Directo9r for IDMSS, Integrative Dental Medicine Scholar Society. As a speaker and workshop coach, she helps dental professionals gain the knowledge and skills to address dental patients’ complete health. Plus, she is featured on the Ask Why Medicine and Cheat Codes for Health podcasts educating the public and colleagues on the new gold standard in healthcare.

Lora is a member of the ADHA, ODHA, and CDHA. She has previously served as Continuing Education Chair for the CDHA and as a liaison for the ODHA to the OSDB. She has been a clinical dental hygienist for over 28 years.

Lora is a care coordinator and patient educator for Dr. Gina Pritchard at the Prevent Clinic. She integrates her expertise in dental knowledge, managing patient care, and incorporating her passion for improving patients' lives through integrating oral & general medicine into practice.

Lora is a visiting Faculty Member of the Pankey Institute and a dental speaker for MDVIP Cardio Collaboration. Lora was previously co-owner of Dental Hygiene Excellence, coaching dental teams on her founded DHEmethod. She has been a key speaker, coach, and consultant for over 20 years in Oral Salivary diagnostics and has overseen over 10,000 test. You can find her spending quality time with her family and reading oral systemic health research in her spare time. One fun fact about Lora is that she was a figure skater for The Ohio State University.
