The Magic of Air for Managing Dysbiotic Biofilms around Dental Implants and Teeth

Friday, April 24

2 - 3:30 PM

1.5 CDE Credits – DDS, DH, DA, AUX

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Dysbiotic biofilms fuel diseases within and outside of the oral cavity. Novel technology and compelling scientific evidence incorporating Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) warrant careful understanding of how this system of biofilm management benefits the patient, the practice and the clinician. GBT requires a shift in traditional technologies and methods for managing biofilm, but the patient and clinician benefit from easy, gentle and effective methods of biofilm removal from implants, periodontal pockets, exposed root surfaces and delicate restorative materials. This course creates a compelling case for minimally invasive management of dysbiotic biofilms around implants and teeth with an approach that provides substantial ergonomic benefits for clinicians and is preferred by patients opposed to traditional methods.

Course Objectives:
1. Appraise evidence surrounding pathogenic biofilms as a direct and indirect promoter of chronic diseases.
2. Recognize mounting specific evidence in support of GBT.
3. Appraise shifts in paradigms and technologies necessary to provide Guided Biofilm Therapy to your patients.
