About the Course

Treating patients in the office who suffer with dentinal hypersensitivity can leave the patient and the clinician both on edge. You know the kind of patient who tells us where we are “allowed” to clean and how to do it to avoid a painful experience. Having the knowledge to recognize the cause and having solution options to treat the condition can create strong, trusting relationships with your patients. Through various methods, taking the ouch out of dental care can be achieved.

This session will enable particpants to:
- Review the common causes of dentinal hypersensitivity
- Review of common methods used to treat hypersensitivity
- Introduce alternative methods to treat hypersensitivity in-office
- Discuss recommendation options that may be instrumental for continued relief

Speaker

Jamie Collins, R.D.H.-E.A., B.S.

Jamie Collins is a hygienist licensed in Idaho and Washington and dedicated to advancing the dental profession. Her more than twenty years in the dental field has led to her involvement in many aspects of patient care. With a passion for patient care, especially those with higher risk factors, Collins enjoys sharing the tips and tricks of the dental profession. Through speaking and writing for various publications, with more than 80 articles published, she educates dental professionals worldwide. She was awarded the ADHA Trailblazer Award in 2021 and 2022 and was the first recipient of the ADHA Standout Seven Corporate Hygienist award in 2022. Collins has also contributed to multiple textbooks, curriculum development and
