Systematic Endodontics: A Methodical Approach to Root Canal Treatment

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Root canal treatment can be a very rewarding part of any dental practice when the treatment process goes as planned. But when control over the treatment is lost, this procedure can be fraught with challenges and frustrations for both the practitioner and the patient. This course will identify and teach the critical skills necessary to establish a systematic and methodical approach to basic root canal treatment for predictable treatment outcomes. This course is designed to help the practitioner understand the critical core concepts and principles used by the endodontist to achieve a predictable root canal treatment every time. Applying the techniques taught in the course will improve the clinician’s confidence and knowledge with basic root canal treatment in the general practice.
Course Objectives:
1. Understand endodontic access design and access treatment planning.
2. Understand root canal negotiation and instrumentation.
3. Understand troubleshooting protocols.
4. Understand file-bending techniques.
5. Understand minimal canal shape requirements.
6. Understand irrigation and disinfection protocols.
7. Understand predictable obturation techniques.
PRESENTER:
William Nudera, DDS, M.S.
William Nudera, DDS, M.S., is a board certified endodontist, known for his conservative treatment philosophy. He earned his DDS from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) in 1999. He then served in the U.S. Air Force, completing an AEGD residency. Following his military service, Nudera completed his endodontic training, simultaneously earning a master’s degree in Oral Sciences at UIC. Nudera owns and operates Specialized Endodontic Solutions and Highland Park Endodontics, performs all phases of endodontic treatment and holds a faculty position at UIC. He has multiple publications and speaks internationally. Nudera is dedicated to advancing quality dental education.
