1.5 CDE Credits – DDS, DH, DA, AUX
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Patient-centered care is not new. It is our “why,” and treating patients with a cookie-cutter approach is boring. Current research supports innovation – using new products to deliver the art and science of quality care.
This course will explore:
- What are a patient’s actual needs?
- Is it possible to create a customized care strategy that really addresses diagnostic needs, not just what is covered under a benefit plan?
- Can patients become active participants in building a successful health journey?
Course Objectives:
1. Explain how salivary chemistry testing provides valuable data.
2. Examine innovative ways to stop caries microbes and regenerate hydroxyapatite.
3. Describe how arginine, xylitol, probiotics and peroxide help balance oral ecology.
4. Evaluate novel biofilm destruction and home care options.
